Following a slew of consistent leaks, Samsung finally took the wraps off its new Galaxy C5 smartphone in China.

The handset comes with mid-range specifications, but it's fashionable metal unibody design makes it look and feel premium. Between the sleek Galaxy S7/S7 edge flagships and the mid-range Galaxy C5, Samsung's plastic days seem a distant memory.

Just a few days ago, the Samsung Galaxy C5 leaked in press renders online, boosting the hype surrounding its sleek design. With the smartphone now official, here's what it has to offer.

In terms of specifications, the handset comes with a 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and a solid 4 GB of RAM. Other specs include 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for extra locker space, a 16-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel selfie cam, dual-SIM, LTE connectivity and a 2,600 mAh battery to keep everything up and running.

The Samsung Galaxy C5 also has a front-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, which means that it will also work with the Samsung Pay mobile payments solution.

The smartphone is available in black, gray, pink and gold color options, but only in China for now. The 32 GB version is priced at 2,199 yuan, i.e. roughly $335, while the higher-capacity 64 GB model costs 2,399 yuan, which would translate to roughly $365 based on current exchange rates.

The price seems quite competitive for the specs the Galaxy C5 brings to the table, but that's a must for the Chinese market, as there are plenty of affordable rivals. The handset is now available for preorder, set to start shipping on June 17.

Samsung made no mention yet of a global release, so it remains unclear at this point just when or if the Galaxy C5 will reach other markets outside of China. A recent FCC listing, however, suggests that a U.S. release might not be so far off. If the handset already received FCC certification, it's pretty much ready to hit the market.

tecno has been on a roll this year, releasing a phone almost every month. The issue though, is not how fast they can release phones but the quality of the phones being released.

Well, today we have news, Tecno is working on releasing the Camon C9 which will be the successor to the Camon C8. The big news about the C9 is that it has a 13MP front and back camera that Tecno is claiming is one of a kind. I am not that excited by this, well until we get the device and give it a full review treatment and see the quality of the images for ourselves. There is also word that the C9 could come with a fingerprint sensor but according to the images, there is high chance that this isn’t the case. There is also the possibility of the device coming with 2GB RAM, a much welcome improvement. Below are the leaked images of the upcoming Tecno Camon C9:

From the look of things, The Camon C9 borrows a lot from the Boom J8 design with its metallic frame and sandstone back. Rumors also have it that the device will be launched in June, but at the moment we cannot confirm this, it’s a few days from June anyway, we will just wait and see.

Mtn Lunches Digital Service to the public

According to the Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, subscribers will have the freedom to watch their favourite programmes when they choose the MTN Video-on-Demand service, “rather than having to watch at a specific broadcast time.”

…“Once we commence full commercial activities, the TV service will deliver an exciting bouquet of rich local and international content to Nigerians”.

MTN Nigeria announced the launch of the pilot of its digital television broadcasting service in Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday and it went live yesterday.

You’ll recall that MTN was issued with the 700MHz spectrum licence last year by the NBC, which is a digital broadcast licence that will enable MTN Nigeria deliver broadcasting services, along side its core data and voice service delivery in a globally converged economy.

I am waiting for MTN to Lunch the 4G LTE  as promised by MTN.

Google's Smart Jacket Will Hit The Market In 2017

The tech giant Google introduced the Jacquard project, the touch-sensitive fabric technology is getting more real. In Jacquard project, the tech giant Google has been working with Levi's for months. The objective? To achieve smart clothing which will allow its user to control their smartphones without taking out of the pocket. Hence, the jacket was born which will hit the market next year.
"The smart jacket was made up of denim fabric which can be washed, in the same way, that traditional dirty and used trousers are done". Said the Ivan Poupyrev at the developer conference Google I/O 2016. But, Ivan Poupyrev also added that "we are not making smart pants." Instead, it's the "Levi's commuter trucker jacket." You can touch the sleeve of your jacket while you're, say, biking, to control your phone. You can answer a phone call or block a phone call, and do a bit more, too".

Moreover, the reports also confirmed that this smart jacket will also work with Spotify, Google Maps, Strava, and Google. Hence, the tech giant Google will soon release the APIs so the developers can use it as soon as possible.

As we mentioned earlier that with the Project Jacquard, the tech giant Google shows that it is possible to change the music, turn up the volume and even forward a call without ever seeing the phone out of your pocket.Paul Dillinger, the vice president of innovation Levi's, adding that "decided to place the smart fabric on the wrist of the smart jacket so that the user can easily access, especially the drivers of motorcycles and bicycles in the urban areas". So, with the swipe of the hand on this fabric, the user can easily answer a call by Bluetooth, raise or lower the volume to music and to ask for the directions as we mentioned earlier.As in this promotional video, you can see the denim jacket with an area sensitive to finger movements fibers and small touches that -through the application to control Jacquard- services such as calls, text messages, Google Maps, and Spotify, among others.

Nokia Officially Announces Their Return To Mobile

Ever since Nokia sold off their mobile division to Microsoft, many have been wondering if the Finnish company would see a return to mobile. So far for the most part, we've seen Nokia explore other technologies, like with the launch of the Nokia OZO virtual reality camera, but wonder no more because Nokia has announced their triumphant return.

However we should point out that Nokia's return will not be by the company themselves, but rather under a new agreement in which Nokia will be granting a company called HMD an exclusive global license to create Nokia-branded mobile devices. In a way you could think of this deal as being similar to Google's Nexus handsets, in which Google grants certain OEMs the right to create phones under the Nexus branding.

According to Nokia,

"So, under a new agreement, Nokia Technologies has granted HMD, a new company led by some of the world's top mobile specialists, an exclusive global license to create a full range of Nokia-branded smartphones, tablets, and feature phones for the next decade. The new smartphones and tablets will be based on Android, uniting one of the world's iconic mobile brands, Nokia, with the leading mobile operating system and app development community."

This move shouldn't really be surprising because earlier this year, Nokia's CEO confirmed that if and when the company does return to mobile, they will actually be making one of the best..

NTEL Network Releases New Unlimited Data Plans And More PickUp Outlets in Nigeria

NTEL, the newly reintroduced telecommunication company operating is Nigeria, has unveiled more facts plans which consistent with them, are unlimited.Although
the company says plans are being made to have its services in other parts of the country, most Lagos residents are still hoping.

NTEL recently launched two (2) new data plans; a 7 day plan (Smartphone Data Weekly) and a monthly plan (Smartphone Data Monthly). Although i hear there is a 3 day plan.

The 3-day data plan costs N1200, the 7 day data plan cost N3000 while the monthly plan cost N10,000. According to the company, the data plans are unlimited. However, it’d be recalled that NTEL once stated in it’s policy that data will be throttled after reaching 3MB daily. It’s not clear if that policy applies to these data plans.

NTEL also unveiled new outlets which will serve as SIM redemption and purchase points for Abuja residents.

Use this trick to send large media files on WhatsApp

Even the world’s largest messaging service has its limitations. Whatsapp only allows sending files to other users that are upto 16MB in size. Power users who want more from the app are often left unsatisfied. But there is a way for rooted phones to gain access with minor alterations. Please note that this tutorial can only be used in case of rooted android smartphones. If your phone is not rooted then sadly you cannot continue further, but can surely learn in case of future opportunities. Follow this simple trick 

REQUIREMENTS TO SEND LARGE VIDEOS/AUDIOS VIA WHATSAPP.. 

First your phone must be rooted

And you need to have any Root File Explorer installed on your phone, please install one like Root File Manager or xplore file manager 
In this tutorial am going to make use of xplore,but NOTE that you can also perform this trick with any root editor.
HOW TO SEND LARGE VIDEOS / AUDIOS VIS WHATSAPP
Once the root manager is installed, go to the root folder of your device.

Then go to the folder named ‘data’.You can see the Folder in the image above

Again inside this folder, there will be another folder named ‘data’. Enter this folder too.

Inside the second data folder, enter the folder named ‘com.whatsapp’ as seen in the image below 

Now inside the ‘com.whatsapp’ folder, enter the folder named ‘shared_prefs’.  As seen in the image below.. 

 Finally, you will see a file named ‘com.whatsapp_preferences.xml’. Click on the file and open it using the Text Editor that comes with the root explorer you installed. 

Once the file opens, you can see some code written in it. The purpose is to change a value of a variable to suit our needs. For this click search and type the media_limit and change its media limit value to a desired number like 99 from the default 16. This will change the file sharing limit on your whatsapp to 99MB instead of the original 16MB. You can enter any limit you want as long as it is less than 2 GB or 2048 MB.

Save the file and enjoy an all new freedom to share.

NB: if it does not work, First "force stop your whatsApp" and repeat the above procedure.after saving the file, open your whatsApp again and enjoy..

=> Make sure your phone is rooted. You can root your Android Marshmallow phones with latest Kingroot app. See how to root android 6
=> Backup your original IMEI by Dialing *#06# and copying out your follow come IMEI, save it in a secured place

=> Now install and run the downloaded Camelephon app on your phone

=> Open the installed Chamelephon app> Click on Authorize if asked for root access
=> The IMEI of sim 1 is shown on the first box and if your phone is a dual sim phone, the second box is for Sim 2.
=> At this point, i assume you already have the IMEI you want to tweak or you have generated it.

=> Now simply paste your new IMEI”s in the spaces provided and tap the “Apply new IMEI ” button.

=> Finally, confirm the change

To see the new IMEI you just tweaked, simply put your phone in flight mode or just reboot it and the IMEI will be available on your phone once you dial *#06#
